(Philip) Neil Miller, NZTROF Bulletin Editor

Neil has been involved in Racehorse ownership for 14 years and on the Auckland Association Committee for most of that time. He is Immediate Past President, handing over the reins to current Auckland President Mike Gething in 2016.

He became an Honorary Life Member of NZTROF at the 2021 AGM.

Having been Editor of the NZTROF OWNERS BULLETIN for more than ten years, with an object of ‘putting back’, he is also mindful of keeping ‘little people’ in a job. He has produced 60 issues!

Coming from a farming background, Neil finished his schooling at Te Kauwhata DHS. He has enjoyed a long career in the Construction industry and is now retired. He’s a keen industry advocate and is currently a director of a Commercial Property and Investment Company.

Other interests are boating (Life Member Half Moon Bay Marina Association, and Past President), fishing, growing things and English – he has an appetite for the well-written word.

Neil spent ten years with the Auckland Coast Guard as a skipper in the cutter group.

With plenty of tools in his belt, Neil has been a boat designer/builder, inventor, industry pioneer and more. He professes to know, invariably, which way is up!

He enjoyed racing success with the talented mare Boundless who ran in the 2008 Melbourne Cup and has several young horses in the pipeline at present.

Neil resides in East Auckland with wife Jeanette. They have three adult children.

Neil is an Honorary Member of Counties Racing Club.
