After starting his racing career in France and Australia (he won the 2016 Sydney Cup and ran in the 2017 Melbourne Cup), Gallante came to NZ. Here, the son of Montjeu was put over the jumps and showed his prowess in that role with a hurdle win in August 2018. After an up and down period, he came through for another win over the hurdles at Awapuni. Handy all the way, it was a dominant win by 12 lengths. Two wins from 9 jumping starts, and four wins from 29 flat races.
